AANEM Laboratory Accreditation with Exemplary Status

AANEM Laboratory Accreditation with Exemplary Status

We are excited to announce that Kane Hall Barry Neurology has been approved by the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) as an accredited laboratory with the designation of “exemplary status”.  We have earned this position for the Bedford and Keller locations through the dedication and hard work of our excellent physicians and techs in the labs, as well as the supportive efforts of the administrative team.

Dr. Sharique Ansari, Board Certified in Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Dr. Sandeep Kahlon, Board Certified in Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine, will serve as Co-Lab Medical Directors.

“We are excited to receive AANEM Laboratory Accreditation status”, explained Neil Mecwan, Practice Administrator of Kane Hall Barry Neurology.  “Our mission is to deliver Patient Centered Quality Care and we are grateful to AANEM for recognizing the efforts Kane Hall Barry Neurology puts forth to conduct exemplary electrodiagnostic assessments for comprehensive neuromuscular care and treatment of our patients.”

What is an EDX accredited lab?

AANEM uses a process that identifies and acknowledges electrodiagnostic (EDX) labs for achieving and maintaining the highest level of quality, performance, and integrity based on professional standards developed by AANEM. Accreditation provides labs with a structured mechanism to assess, evaluate, and improve the quality of care.

What is evaluated?

  • Diagnostic services and clinical operations, including clinical staff qualifications and continuing education
  • Physical facilities
  • Electrodiagnostic equipment
  • Protocols for performing electrodiagnostic studies
  • Patient reports
  • Policies are in place for ensuring the health and safety of every patient

Kane Hall Barry physicians and technologists will endeavor to maintain accreditation by meeting stringent requirements for laboratory studies and reports, taking continuing education courses, ensuring proper performance standards are met, and continually striving for quality improvement.

What does this mean for the patients and referring entities?

Kane Hall Barry Neurology is the only accredited EDX lab in North Texas!

Lab accreditation demonstrates clinical excellence in EDX medicine. The value of this designation means we are recognized as “exemplary” in the field of electrodiagnostic medicine, and, as such, patients can easily locate us on the AANEM website and know they are receiving care from the best diagnostic testing facility.  The dedication of our team will allow us to continue the compassionate care for our patients.

Exemplary Status is the highest level of accreditation an EDX laboratory can achieve under the AANEM Accreditation Program. If you are looking for quality electrodiagnostic testing in a safe environment, reach out to Kane Hall Barry Neurology.
